Classes start week beginning April 20th. Tuesday 2.00-4.30 and Thursday 10.00-12.30. Watercolours the first week. We may do some work outside but not far from the hall and not for the whole session. You will need outdoor painting and drawing kit and possibly a change of shoes although I don’t expect it to be muddy at present.
I never stop looking out for birds and enjoying them but don’t always make records. It’s really birding time now with alot of the summer visitors arriving. I’ve seen swallows and sandmartins and heard willow warblers and chiffchafs over the last few days. I went to do abit of sketching at Gelli Aur Country park today. Heard the warblers again and spotted a pair of either willow tits or marsh tits ( look so similar I can’t tell them apart). There were tits and thrushes singing and I watched a tree creeper going up, flying back down and going up the same tree near to me over and over again. Brilliant!
My work is being exhibited here until mid May. It’s a lovely place to visit. The walk along the Wye there is really pretty especially in this sunshine.
An oil painting day for beginners and those with a little experience. We shall learn how to mix convincing greens and take an alla prima approach to painting trees and foliage in the landscape – in one go!
