Cottage in the woods
I shall be working in oils. Monday and Tuesday groups will be working along with me on a reference I shall bring in. More details may follow tomorrow but you need to work a minimum size A4. Thursday group will be working along with me in oils on the cottage in the woods picture. We shall start it in acrylics and I shall have the colours we need. It will be a three hour session from 10am – 1.00pm. I shall post the reference.
Working from your own reference in the medium of your choice. Monday group have the option to start a large canvas in oil.
We shall be working in watercolour on our own building reference. See tips and tricks for details of next weeks homework!
We shall be using in watercolour and working on techniques for depicting stone walls. If you have anything to help in the way of books and photos please bring it along. You will need candles, salt, cling film stc.
After the break we shall be working on buildings in the landscape, making a start with cottages and revising simple perspective. I shall have a reference to work from the first week but try and collect some of your own preferably with the building at an angle to the viewer so we can analyse some vanishing points. Drawing media and cartridge paper and watercolours for the first session. I shall have the light box to enable us to trace drawings on to watercolour paper.
